(K) Thinking Like a Historian
Monday, July 6, 2026 1 p.m. – 2 p.m.
Ages 8-12. Historians use objects, documents, and contextual knowledge to build an understanding of the past. Together with museum staff, students will be invited to do the same, using their eyes, hands, and critical thinking skills to explore what replica objects can tell us about the people of the past.
Aimed at elementary school students and their families, Revolution at the Library features hands-on, curiosity-sparking lessons incorporating replica artifacts and documents that children can examine and explore. Throughout the summer, educators from the Museum visit neighborhood libraries across Philadelphia to present engaging stories about the diverse people and complex events of the Revolutionary era, accompanied by activities that allow families to build their skills and knowledge together.
