(K) What’s under the Museum?
Tuesday, July 7, 2026 1 p.m. – 2 p.m.
Ages 4-12. Love history? So do we! Go behind the scenes with museum staff to discover cool artifacts from the past and hear the exciting stories they can tell. In this workshop, we will learn about archaeology and the thousands of objects we discovered under the museum—in an 18th-century toilet! Find out what these objects reveal about the people who once lived in our revolutionary neighborhood.
Aimed at elementary school students and their families, Revolution at the Library features hands-on, curiosity-sparking lessons incorporating replica artifacts and documents that children can examine and explore. Throughout the summer, educators from the Museum visit neighborhood libraries across Philadelphia to present engaging stories about the diverse people and complex events of the Revolutionary era, accompanied by activities that allow families to build their skills and knowledge together.
