Event Description

Ages 9-12.  For July, Tween Snack n' Chat is discussing Matilda by Roald Dahl. We will discuss the book, enjoy a snack and complete a fun book-related craft.  We have a limited number of free library copies.

Armed with sarcasm, smarts, and a touch of telekinesis, Matilda turns the tables on the grown-ups who underestimate her. It's a mischievous, clever romp where brains beat bullies, and knowledge and kindness are more valuable than wealth or power.

Event Description

Grades K-2, with a caregiver. Join Mr. Tate for a monthly book club! Each session will start with a guided discussion of that month's book, followed by a themed activity or craft, and a snack. This month's book is Who Would Win?: Ultimate Showdown by Jerry Pallotta. Registration is open June 19 - July 3. You will receive an email when your book is ready to be picked up from the Youth Services desk.

Please read the book before the meeting and come ready to discuss - this month we are reading a nonfiction book, so think about what you already knew about the topic, what you learned, and what you would like to know more about.

Don't forget to log your minutes and win prizes! Sign up for summer reading and win prizes at camdencountylibrary.beanstack.org.

Please register only the children attending, not the adults. Please note that there will be food served at this program. Children under 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Please contact Mr. Tate at tpotts@camdencountylibrary.org with any questions or concerns.
