(A) Yoga for Adults

Yoga is offered on the second and fourth Saturday of the month. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat (or something close to it), a yoga block if you have one, and a small blanket to cover yourself while we're in relaxation. All levels are welcome, including no experience! Floor space is limited and will be first come, first serve.

(A) The History & Legacy of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion

By the end of 1944, with the D-day landings complete and the hard-fought Battle of the Bulge underway, the Army faces another daunting challenge: mail warehouses in Europe overflowed with mountains of undelivered letters and packages. A shortage of postal workers meant seven millions Americans on the continent were feeling disconnected from their loved ones at home. In response, a Women's Army Corps (WAC) unit, eventually designated at the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, was assembled and sent to England and France.

Come learn about the only unit of Black women to serve overseas during World War II and how they efficiently delivered that severe mail backlog under the command of Major Charity Adams.

Presented by Dr. Karen T. Jordan, descendant of the 6888th, historian, and ambassador.

Ages 15 - Up The Ukulele Circle returns to South County every first and third Wednesday of the month. Join Mr. Roy Cox and other ukulele enthusiasts for an hour of playing and learning new songs together. All Skill levels are welcome. There will be a few ukuleles available for new players to use.

In this Just Say Yes to Fruits and Vegetables: Fiber lesson, we will discuss an essential and often-underrated nutrient: fiber! We will discuss the benefits of fiber, where to find it, and how to make healthy, budget-friendly recipes that are full of fiber. This program will include a recipe demonstration, taste test, and free gift giveaway! Presented by Rutgers Cooperative Extension and the NJ SNAP-Ed grant.

(A) South County Adult Craft Club

Adult crafters, bring your current projects and socialize with other crafters! The library will have basic supplies like paper towels, scissors, and glue available. This is not an instructional class. 

The Adult Craft Club meets at least once a month on a Tuesday. Registration is not required but not encouraged.
