(K) Life at Sea!

Ages 6-11. Climb aboard as we learn about life on a privateer ship, including what, as a sailor, you might have eaten, what your job might have been, and how you would have passed the time. Meet some of the Revolution’s most famous sailors, like Philadelphian James Forten, learn how to fire a cannon while fighting off the British, and get ready to help us create our own “tall tale” from the high seas! Presented by the Museum of the American Revolution. Registration is required.

(T) DIY Dinosaur Fossil Take and Bake Cookies

Ages 11 to 14.

Join us at the Bellmawr library for a tween take and bake night! In this program, we are going to make shortbread cookie dough, and stamp dinosaur fossils into them! Take them home to bake and you will have delicious dinosaur footprint cookies! Registration is required for this program. Registration for this event will open on Wednesday 6/10 at 10:00 A.M. and close on Monday 6/22 at 9:00 P.M. or when the registration list is full, whichever occurs first. Accessibility info: The library is located all on one floor. There are no steps to enter the building, and the front doors to the building are automatic. The doors into the library portion of the building can be opened with an accessible button.

(K) Spies of the Revolution

Ages 8-12.

In this super-secret meeting, join museum staff as we learn about the spies of the Revolution! From shopkeepers and mystery women to enslaved men who served as double agents, let’s discover who these spies were and how they operated undercover. We’ll solve some of our puzzles, uncover some secret messages, and discover why George Washington thought spies were essential to the Continental Army’s victory.
