(Y) A Call for Teen Volunteers; Family Board Game Night

Teens age 14 - 18  Are you a teen looking to earn volunteer hours? Do you enjoy playing board games and working with young children and their families? If so, this opportunity is perfect for you!

Volunteer Hours: 5:45 PM - 8:00 PM
Responsibilities:

Assist with event setup and breakdown
Engage with children and families by playing and explaining board games
Help maintain a fun and friendly atmosphere

Chutes and Ladders
Scrabble Jr.
Game of Life
Monopoly
Connect 4
Jenga
Uno
Feel free to bring your favorite age-appropriate game to share!

Teens must respond to confirm their commitment

Ages 14-18.

Calling all teen writers! The Teen Writing Club meets the first Wednesday of the month to share our works in progress, provide feedback on others' material, and enjoy some snacks!

For April's meeting we will be celebrating National Poetry Month with a guest speaker, Donna Maccherone of Zen Wise Writing, who will lead activities involving both poetry and other genres.

Ages 15 - Up The Ukulele Circle returns to South County every first and third Wednesday of the month. Join Mr. Roy Cox and other ukulele enthusiasts for an hour of playing and learning new songs together. All Skill levels are welcome. There will be a few ukuleles available for new players to use.

(F) Drop-In Chess afternoon

Ages 9 - Adult Join us for a relaxed afternoon of chess! Whether you’re a seasoned player or just starting out, you’re welcome to drop in and enjoy some friendly games. Feel free to bring your own chess set or use one of ours from the library. All skill levels are welcome, so come and have fun while sharpening your chess skills!  This not an instructional class. No registration needed.

(F) Peeps Diorama Contest

South County is having a Peeps Diorama Contest with a book theme! All are welcome to participate, either as an individual or family. Reimagine your favorite book or series with Peep characters. Entries can be dropped off at the library between April 7th-12th. Vote for your favorite online or in-person April 14th-19th. Winner announced April 21st. Dioramas must be picked up by April 23rd or they will be discarded.
