(Y) A Call for Teen Chess Volunteers!

Teens age 14 - 17 Are you looking for volunteer credits? Do you love to play chess? Bring your chess sets and help get a library chess group started at your library! Play chess! Interact with families! Spread the love of chess! EARN VOLUNTEER CREDITS! Registration is required and spots are limited. Do not use your school email. The librarian will email you before the event to confirm your volunteer commitment. Be sure to respond back. Registration opens August 20 and closes September 11.

(A) SCUCS: SHIP (Medicare Help)

Senior Citizens United Community Services (SCUCS) provides information for seniors ages 60+ on available community services. SCUCS staff can provide seniors or those permanently disabled who live in Camden County with information on SHIP (Medicare) to fit their individual needs. Speak with their SHIP Coordinator and get your Medicare questions answered. Registration suggested, but not required.

Take part in lively discussions of classic and contemporary short stories in Room C at 1 pm. Stories can be obtained at the Information Desk on the first floor of the Voorhees branch.  The story for September is Twin Study by Stacey Richter.

(A) Book Tasting Club

NEW START TIME: 6:30pm Not sure what to read next? "Sample" 12 books of all genres at our book tasting and you may find your next favorite author or series.  Participants will have four minutes to read each book (you can choose to read from the beginning, middle, or end!)  and record their initial impressions. Brief discussion will follow. 

Book Tasting is held on the third Wednesday of every month. Please feel free to bring a snack with you.
