(Y) A Call for Teen Volunteers: Program Helpers

Teen Volunteer Opportunity (Ages 14–18)

Earn volunteer hours while helping create a welcoming library program for families and children! Volunteers will assist during a movie event by supporting activities and ensuring the space is inviting and organized.

Arrival: Please arrive by 10:30 AM to help with set-up, including moving tables and chairs and becoming familiar with the planned activities.

During the Program: Volunteers will keep craft tables stocked and tidy, assist with refreshments, and engage with participants to make the event enjoyable.

Departure: Stay until 1:15 PM to help with clean-up and break-down of tables and chairs.

✨ Volunteer opportunities are in high demand. Registration is required (please do not use your school email to register). The librarian will email you the day before the program to confirm your commitment—be sure to check your inbox.

Teens age 14 - 17 Are you looking for volunteer credits? Do you love to play chess? Bring your chess sets and help get a library chess group started at your library! Play chess! Interact with families! Spread the love of chess! 

EARN VOLUNTEER CREDITS! Registration is required and spots are limited. Do not use your school email. The librarian will email you before the event to confirm your volunteer commitment.  Volunteer opportunities are in high demand. No shows may be blocked from future volunteer events.

(A) South County Adult Craft Club

Adult crafters, bring your current projects and socialize with other crafters! The library will have basic supplies like paper towels, scissors, and glue available. This is not an instructional class. 

The Adult Craft Club meets at least once a month on a Wednesday. Registration is not required.

(A) Third Tuesday Short Story Discussion for Seniors

Take part in lively discussions of classic and contemporary short stories in Room C at 1 pm. Stories can be obtained at the Information Desk on the first floor of the Voorhees branch.  The group will be discussing The History of Sound by Ben Shattuck.

(A) Book Tasting Club

Not sure what to read next? "Sample" 12 books of all genres at our book tasting and you may find your next favorite author or series.  Participants will have four minutes to read each book (you can choose to read from the beginning, middle, or end!)  and record their initial impressions. Brief discussion will follow. 

Book Tasting is held on the third Wednesday of every month. Please feel free to bring a snack with you.
