Ages 2-8 with a caregiver.

Join us at the library with Mlanjeni Magical Theater for a fun, interactive look at the drums of Africa and various rhythms and the spread of drum beats to American folk music in tambourines, spoons, and cow bells. Be ready for lots of audience participation!

Step into the circle and feel the beat in Mister Boom Boom's African Drum Circle, an immersive, hands-on musical journey that brings the power and spirit of African drumming to life-while connecting its influence to rhythms and instruments from around the world. This high-energy program centers around the djembe, the heart of West African rhythm, and expands to include a dynamic collection of global percussion instruments, including bongos, cajon, and more, that trace their roots back to African traditions.

(T) Tween Snack n' Chat: Twins

Ages 9-12.  For February, Tween Snack n' Chat is discussing  Varian Johnson and Shannon Wright's graphic novel Twins. Twins is a funny, heartfelt graphic novel about identical sisters Maureen and Francine navigating middle school as they discover who they are—together and apart. We will discuss the book, enjoy a snack and complete a fun book-related craft. We have a limited number of free library copies, please contact the library at 856-854-2752 to request one.  Copies are first come first serve.

In this leathercraft workshop, students will learn to create patterns to cut out of leather to make two non-sewn leather projects: a coin purse and journal. No experience necessary. Presented by designer and educator Terina Nicole Hill.
