(T) Rangoli Remix! Create Colorful and Vibrant Indian Floor Art

(Ages 9–13) Join artist Sapana Raval and the NJ Folklife team from Perkins Center for the Arts to explore the colorful world of rangoli, a South Indian art form made with bright powders and patterns. Learn how this joyful tradition celebrates festivals like Diwali, brings good luck, and welcomes guests. Then roll up your sleeves to design your own dazzling rangoli—and help create a beautiful community masterpiece!

(K) Mlanjeni Magical Theater presents African Rhythms, American Beats

Ages 2-8 with a caregiver.

Join us at the library with Mlanjeni Magical Theater for a fun, interactive look at the drums of Africa and various rhythms and the spread of drum beats to American folk musloc in tambourines, spoons, and cow bells. Be ready for lots of audience participation!
