Do you know a spider from a skillet?

A pipkin from a posnet?

A trivet from a trammel?

Kathryn Saxton-Granato, COO and Program Specialist for South Jersey Curations LLC, has been a hearth cook at historic sites throughout Southern NJ for about 8 years. As a former history teacher, she is able to guide an audience through discussions of various foods, preparation, equipment, and the nuances of cooking back when the heat of a wood-burning fireplace was the only option for cooking.

In addition to an informative PowerPoint presentation, an assortment of kitchen utensils and equipment will be used to set the stage for an in-depth understanding of 18th century cooking.

*Actual food won't be served  - this is an educational program.
