(Y) N.O.P.E. Presentation (And Snacks!)

Grades 5-12.

N.O.P.E. (Narcotic Overdose Prevention and Education) offers a one-hour presentation designed for youth across Camden County. Each session features a team that includes a substance use prevention educator, a member of local law enforcement, and an individual with lived experience. Attendees will enjoy refreshments and take home some goodies including free Narcan dispensers. Registration is encouraged.

NOPE is a powerful initiative made possible through the support of the Camden County Board of Commissioners, the Camden County Addiction Awareness Task Force, and the Camden County Municipal Alliance.

(F) Drop-In Chess Afternoon

Ages 9 – Adult

Join us for a relaxed afternoon of chess at the library! Whether you're a seasoned player or just starting out, you're welcome to drop in and enjoy some friendly games in a welcoming environment.

Bring your own chess set or use one of ours—no pressure, no competition, just good company and great moves. This is a casual, non-instructional event, perfect for sharpening your skills or simply enjoying the game.

👥 Need a partner? Our Teen Chess Volunteers will be available to play and help keep the games going!

👨‍👩‍👧 Parents and caregivers must remain with their children during the program.

Come for the strategy, stay for the fun! No Registration Required! Program starts at 2:30 pm and ends at 4:30 pm.

(K) La Hora del Cuento (Spanish Story Time)

For both English and Spanish speaking families. Join us for a fun and interactive Spanish Story Time! Children and their families will enjoy and learn through imitation of songs, rhymes, verses, stories, movements and hand-on activities while celebrating the Spanish language and Latin American culture. This program will contribute to the integral development of children, cultivating growth in imagination and meaningful exploration.

Ven y disfruta de una divertida e interactiva hora del cuento en Español! Los niñas y sus familias disfrutarán y aprenderán a través de la imitación de caciones, rimas, versos, cuentos, bailes y actividades prácticas mientras celebramos el idioma Español y la cultura Latino Americana. Este programa contribuirá al desarollo integral de Los niños, cultivando el crecimiento de la imaginación y la exploración significativa.

Tuesday mornings are for stories, songs, and smiles! Join Mr. Tate for an all-ages story time full of stories, songs, rhymes, and movement. We’ll share books and interactive fun designed to engage babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and their caregivers together. We'll wrap up with free play time, giving children a chance to explore, socialize, and play while grown-ups connect and have fun. (T,Y,A) Hunger Games Trivia Night

This program is intended for tweens, teens, and adults (ages 11 and up).

Get excited for the release of the Sunrise on the Reaping movie with a cutthroat Hunger Games trivia night! Okay, maybe it won’t be cutthroat (we are the public library, after all), but it IS still Hunger Games themed! We will do 4 rounds of trivia, and at the end the tributes with the top three scores will receive AMC gift cards to see Sunrise on the Reaping! As a note, no victory tour will be required for our victors! Due to limited spaces, registration is required. Registration will open on Wednesday 11/4 and close on Monday 11/16 or when the list becomes full, whichever occurs first.

Accessibility info: The library is located all on one floor. There are no steps to enter the building, and the front doors to the building are automatic. The doors into the library portion of the building can be opened with an accessible button.
