Please join the Library and the Camden County Reentry Committee to discuss books by and about people who have been justice-involved.

This time we are discussing Better Not Bitter: Living on Purpose in the Pursuit of Racial Justice, a memoir and call to action by Dr. Yusef Salaam. Dr. Salaam is the first of the Central Park Five (now the Exonerated Five) to tell his individual story in his own words. Through his narrative, he inspires readers to channel their fury into action and to turn their anger and trauma into a constructive force that lives alongside accountability and mobilizes change.

  • Location: 301 N. 5th Street, Camden, NJ 08102 on the Rutgers-Camden campus.
    • We are located in the same building as the Rutgers Robeson Library. Our entrance is on the 5th Street side of the building.
    • We are down one flight of stairs or one level on the 401 Penn elevator on the south side of the building.
    • Security officers outside can provide directions.

  • Free Parking: parking in Rutgers lots is free on the weekends! City meters on the street are always $1.25 an hour (coins, credit card, or app).

  • Mass transit: Patco to City Hall, NJ Transit bus to the Walter Rand Transportation Center, or River Line to Cooper St./Rutgers.
