(F) Boogie Woogie Babies

Ages 6 months - 5 years old, with a caregiver. Join us for a dance class for baby and their caregiver! Classes consist of singing and dancing while working on fine motor skills. Classes end with a dance routine that includes baby and their caregiver. Both adults and kids get to socialize, bond, and have fun! Registration is encouraged but not required.

(A) Mosaic Trivet Workshop (1st Session)

Adults. Presented by Tara Bach. This two-session, hands-on workshop introduces adults to the art of mosaic design through the creation of a decorative and functional trivet. Participants will learn basic mosaic techniques including design planning, tile placement, adhesive application, and grouting. Each participant will complete a finished mosaic trivet while exploring color, pattern, and composition in a supportive, step-by-step environment. The program will take place over the course of two sessions (7/18 & 7/25) - please plan to attend both.

Get an up-close look at real birds of prey in this exciting live animal program! Each raptor will be introduced one at a time as you learn about how these incredible birds live, what they eat, and the unique adaptations that help them survive. (K) Early Chapter Book Club

Grades K-2, with a caregiver. Join Mr. Tate for a monthly book club! Each session will start with a guided discussion of that month's book, followed by a themed activity or craft, and a snack. This month's book is Tuck and Tina and the Lost Fortune by Jess Brallier. Registration opens on June 15. After registering, you can pick up your book from the Merchantville Public Library anytime during open hours (if you would like to pick up your book from the Voorhees Library instead, please reach out to Mr. Tate by email). Registration is required.

(T) Still Life Drawing

Ages 10 to 14.

This 1-hour art lesson introduces tweens to observational drawing through a seasonal still life. Students will learn and practice contour line drawing, shading techniques, and colored pencil application. Using seasonal objects as inspiration, they will focus on careful observation, proportion, and adding depth and detail to their drawings through light, shadow, and color.

Registration is required for this program. Registration will open on Monday 7/6 at 10:00 A.M. and close on Saturday 7/18 at 9:00 P.M. or whenever the registration list becomes full, whichever occurs first.

Accessibility info: The library is located all on one floor. There are no steps to enter the building, and the front doors to the building are automatic. The doors into the library portion of the building can be opened with an accessible button.

(Y) Teen Cupcake Decorating Workshop

Ages 12-17. Allison Kissel of Desserts by Allison teaches the art of decorating cupcakes - come hungry, leave happy! Participants will leave with 3-4 cupcakes highlighting the skills they have learned. All supplies are provided. Registration required.

Allergy concerns? Please feel free to bring 3-4 of your own cupcakes to decorate (Allison uses a basic buttercream for icing).
