Discover what the surface of the sun really looks like with a safe solar telescope! Zach Lichtmann of Amazing Astroverse will bring his Hydrogen-Alpha Telescope to peel back the blinding glare of our star and reveal its wild structure. The views will include roiling features on the sun’s surface as well as giant prominences and loops of plasma (often many times the size of Earth) that jut out into space! The dynamic nature of the Sun ensures a different view every day. Lichtmann will describe how this dedicated solar instrument works, explain the visible features of the sun, and answer astronomy questions.
