Learn about Armenian culture and foodways. What does it mean to be part of a diaspora, disconnected from your homeland? Is there a true or authentic way to express your identity? Keith Garabedian will explore the journey from being an outsider, or “odar,” in their own culture, to developing a deep appreciation not only for Armenian culture, but the beautiful complexity of it’s place in the tapestry of the Middle East. We will explore Armenian history, genocide, perseverance, and how diaspora communities continue living through their ancestors memory, food, dress, and music. Refreshments and beverages will be provided.
