(A) Driving While Black: The Green Book Locations of Lawnside and Berlin, NJ

The Green Book was an annual guidebook first published in 1936 that helped African Americans safely navigate the roads of a segregated country. The guide identified services and places relatively friendly to African Americans so they could find lodgings, businesses, and gas stations that would serve them along the road. Join us on Zoom to learn about the history and genealogical methods used to uncover 11 Green Book locations of Lawnside and Berlin, NJ
