Family Program - Ages 9 and Up

In 1949 Marvel T. Dansbury and two other Black women drove from New Jersey to Los Angeles, California. Mrs Dansbury was a delegate for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Convention. First, we will learn basic family history techniques to uncover Mrs. Dansbury's life. Then together we will use the Negro Motorist Green Book to plan their stops for gas, food, lodging, and more. With Shamele Jordon of Genealogy Quick Start.

  • Location: 301 N. 5th Street, Camden, NJ 08102 on the Rutgers-Camden campus.
