(A) Sewing Machines 101: DIY Scrunchies

Have you ever wanted to learn to use a sewing machine but didn’t know where to start? Come and join us at the Bellmawr library for Sewing Machines 101! In this program, patrons will learn the basics of using a sewing machine and then use their new knowledge to make their own beginner friendly scrunchie! Because supplies are limited, registration is required for this program. Registration will open on Wednesday 5/27 at 10:00 A.M., and close on Monday 6/8 at 9:00 P.M. or whenever the registration list becomes full, whichever occurs first.

Note: This same program took place in April and May and will take place again in July and August. Please do not register for this event if you have already attended this program in April or May. Because of the limited number of spaces in each of these programs, we want to give as many people as possible the opportunity to attend.

Accessibility info: The library is located all on one floor. There are no steps to enter the building, and the front doors to the building are automatic. The doors into the library portion of the building can be opened with an accessible button.

(A) Community Reentry Book Club

This group is a partnership between the library and the Camden County Reentry Committee. We read and discuss books by and about individuals who have been impacted by time incarcerated in jails, prisons, or detention, as well as books about the history, politics, and geography of systems of incarceration.

This month, we'll read together the first section of These Walls: The Battle for Rikers Island and the Future of America's Jails by Eva Fedderly. We'll conclude our discussion of this title in July.

Copies to keep will be available (first come, first served).
