Come and join us at the Bellmawr library for a teen craft night! In this program, teens will make a scrunchie and learn the basics of using a sewing machine! Because supplies are limited, registration is required for this program. Registration will open on Tuesday, December 23 at 10:00 A.M., and close on Monday, January 5 at 9:00 P.M. or whenever the registration list becomes full, whichever occurs first.

Have you ever wanted to learn to use a sewing machine but didn’t know where to start? Come and join us at the Bellmawr library for Sewing Machines 101! In this program, patrons will learn the basics of using a sewing machine and then use their new knowledge to make their own pillowcase! Because supplies are limited, registration is required for this program. Registration will open on Monday, December 29 at 10:00 A.M., and close on Friday, January 9 at 9:00 P.M. or whenever the registration list becomes full, whichever occurs first.

Note: This same program took place on December 3. If you signed up for/attended the 12/3 session, please do not sign up for this session as well.

(F) Drop-In Chess Afternoon

Ages 9 – Adult

Join us for a relaxed afternoon of chess at the library! Whether you're a seasoned player or just starting out, you're welcome to drop in and enjoy some friendly games in a welcoming environment.

Bring your own chess set or use one of ours—no pressure, no competition, just good company and great moves. This is a casual, non-instructional event, perfect for sharpening your skills or simply enjoying the game.

👥 Need a partner? Our Teen Chess Volunteers will be available to play and help keep the games going!

👨‍👩‍👧 Parents and caregivers must remain with their children during the program.

Come for the strategy, stay for the fun! No Registration Required!  Program starts at 2:30 pm and ends at 4:30 pm.

Teens age 14 - 17 Are you looking for volunteer credits? Do you love to play chess? Bring your chess sets and help get a library chess group started at your library! Play chess! 🎲Teen Volunteer Ages 14–17

Love board games? Share your passion while earning volunteer hours in a fun, family-friendly environment! Join us for an afternoon of play, laughter, and connection as you help young children and their families discover the joy of board games.

🕒 Schedule

Arrival & Setup: 2:15 PM

Program Time: 2:30–4:30 PM

Cleanup: Stay until 4:45 PM to help put away game sets

🎯 What You'll Do

Engage with families and young children through board games

Help set up and organize game stations

Share your favorite family-friendly game (optional—bring one you love!)

Assist with cleanup and ensure all games are returned in good condition

(T) Tween Snack n' Chat - The Greenglass House

Ages 9-12.  For December, Tween Snack n' Chat is discussing The Greenglass House, by Kate Milford.  We will discuss the book, enjoy a snack and complete a fun book-related craft. We have a limited number of free library copies, please contact the library at 856-854-2752 to request one.  Copies are first come first serve. 

When unexpected guests arrive one snowy night at Greenglass House, twelve-year-old Milo’s quiet winter break turns upside down. Strange stories, missing objects, and hidden secrets fill the creaky old inn. With his friend Meddy, Milo must solve the mystery of Greenglass House—and uncover the truth about himself along the way.
