(Y)A Call for Teen Volunteers! Board Game Enthusiasts

Are you a teen (ages 14–17) looking to earn volunteer hours while having fun? We’re seeking friendly volunteers to play board games with younger children during our Unplug & Play event!

We’ll provide games like Uno, Apples to Apples, Concept, Chutes and Ladders, and other family-friendly favorites. Have a game you love? Feel free to bring it along to share!

Volunteer Details:

Arrival: 3:45 PM (for setup and sign-in)

Event Time: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM (play and assist)

Cleanup: Done by 7:15 PM

Important:

Do not use your school email to register.

The librarian will email you the day before to confirm your commitment.

Volunteer hours are in high demand—no-shows may be blocked from future opportunities.

Teens ages 14–17 looking to earn volunteer hours are invited to spend a meaningful and creative morning at the library! Participants will design and decorate inspirational bookmarks featuring words of encouragement and kindness.

All completed bookmarks will be donated to The BOOK ARK Program, a collaboration with The Free Books Project.

Volunteers should be prepared to spend two hours actively creating multiple bookmarks. All templates and craft supplies will be provided—just bring your creativity and a desire to make a difference!

Join us to earn service hours, express yourself through art, and help brighten someone’s day with a message of hope.

Ages 9 – Adult

Join us for a relaxed afternoon of chess at the library! Whether you're a seasoned player or just starting out, you're welcome to drop in and enjoy some friendly games in a welcoming environment.

Bring your own chess set or use one of ours—no pressure, no competition, just good company and great moves. This is a casual, non-instructional event, perfect for sharpening your skills or simply enjoying the game.

👥 Need a partner? Our Teen Chess Volunteers will be available to play and help keep the games going!

👨‍👩‍👧 Parents and caregivers must remain with their children during the program.

Come for the strategy, stay for the fun! No Registration Required! Program starts at 2:30 pm and ends at 4:30 pm.
