(A) Sewing Machines 101: Potholders

Have you ever wanted to learn to use a sewing machine but didn’t know where to start? Come and join us at the Bellmawr library for Sewing Machines 101! In this program, patrons will learn the basics of using a sewing machine and then use their new knowledge to make their own beginner friendly potholder! Because space and supplies are limited, registration is required for this program. Registration will open on Wednesday 9/23 at 10:00 A.M., and close on Monday 10/5 at 9:00 P.M. or whenever the registration list becomes full, whichever occurs first.

Note: This program will take place on October 7th, November 9th, and December 9th. Please only register for one session.

Accessibility info: The library is located all on one floor. There are no steps to enter the building, and the front doors to the building are automatic. The doors into the library portion of the building can be opened with an accessible button.

(Y) A Call for Teen Volunteers; Program Prep and Department Decorations

Ages 14-17

Looking for volunteer hours? Help the library prepare for upcoming programs and create decorations for our department spaces!

Volunteers will meet in the Youth Services Meeting Room at 6:30 PM and assist with a variety of projects, including:

Preparing craft materials

Sorting beads and supplies

Cleaning reading cubes

Making decorations

Cutting out shapes and other program materials

General organizing and light clean-up tasks

This is a great opportunity to earn volunteer service hours while helping the library create engaging spaces and programs for our community. The volunteer session will conclude at 8:30 PM.

Registration is required and limited to 6 volunteers. Registration opens on September 22, 2026.

The librarian will email registered volunteers the day before the event to confirm their commitment. Volunteer opportunities are in high demand, and participants who register but do not attend without notice may be ineligible for future volunteer opportunities.

Ages 15 - Up The Ukulele Circle returns to South County every first and third Wednesday of the month. Join Mr. Roy Cox and other ukulele enthusiasts for an hour of playing and learning new songs together. All Skill levels are welcome. There will be a few ukuleles available for new players to use.
