(Y) N.O.P.E. Presentation (And Snacks!)

Grades 5-12.

N.O.P.E. (Narcotic Overdose Prevention and Education) offers a one-hour presentation designed for youth across Camden County. Each session features a team that includes a substance use prevention educator, a member of local law enforcement, and an individual with lived experience. Attendees will enjoy refreshments and take home some goodies including free Narcan dispensers. Registration is encouraged.

NOPE is a powerful initiative made possible through the support of the Camden County Board of Commissioners, the Camden County Addiction Awareness Task Force, and the Camden County Municipal Alliance.

(Y) A Call for Teen Chess Volunteers!

Teens age 14 - 17 Are you looking for volunteer credits? Do you love to play chess? Bring your chess sets and help get a library chess group started at your library! Play chess! Interact with families! Spread the love of chess! Arrive by 2:30 pm to assist with set -up. Program ends at 4:30 pm

EARN VOLUNTEER CREDITS! Registration is required and spots are limited. Do not use your school email. The librarian will email you before the event to confirm your volunteer commitment.

Volunteer opportunities are in high demand. No shows may be blocked from future volunteer events.

(A) Community Reentry Book Club

This group is a partnership between the library and the Camden County Reentry Committee. We read and discuss books by and about individuals who have been impacted by time incarcerated in jails, prisons, or detention, as well as books about the history, politics, and geography of systems of incarceration.

This month we'll conclude our discussion of Eating Behind Bars: Ending the Hidden Punishment of Food in Prison by Leslie Soble, Alex Busansky, and Aishatu R. Yusuf.

Copies to keep will be available (first come, first served).

Yoga is offered on the second and fourth Saturday of the month. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat (or something close to it), a yoga block if you have one, and a small blanket to cover yourself while we're in relaxation. All levels are welcome, including no experience! Floor space is limited and will be first come, first serve.
